Tenuta di Arceno Il Fauno di Arcanum 2019 is a polished, Bordeaux-inspired Toscana IGT that showcases the estate’s ability to craft elegant, site-driven wines from the hills of southern Chianti Classico. Built around Cabernet Franc and complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a touch of Petit Verdot, it balances richness, freshness, and complexity in a distinctly Tuscan style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color, hinting at both concentration and maturity. The nose opens with layered aromas of black cherry, cassis, rosemary, rose petals, nutmeg, and a subtle sweet mint character, giving the wine a fragrant and refined profile. On the palate, the wine is supple yet structured, with dark fruit, pepper, mocha, and a fresh earthy note unfolding in a graceful, elegant manner. The oak is well integrated, adding polish without overpowering the fruit, and the finish is long and composed. It already drinks beautifully now, but it also has the depth to continue developing favorably over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from four warmer blocks within Tenuta di Arceno’s extensive estate, selected for their ability to ripen fully while still retaining freshness. The vineyards sit at 300–500 meters above sea level on varied hillside soils, influenced by cool winds from the north and warmer southern breezes, creating a complex mosaic of microclimates and terroirs. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of new and used French oak barrels to build texture and complexity while preserving the fruit’s finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, wild mushroom dishes, braised game, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromas and structure. Decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if served younger, to allow the wine to open fully.

Tenuta di Arceno is located at the southern edge of Chianti Classico in Castelnuovo Berardenga, an area with a winemaking history dating back to the 16th century. The estate’s name pays tribute to the region’s Etruscan heritage, with “Arceno” derived from archè, meaning “place of origin.” Once owned by the Del Taja and Piccolomini families, the property was acquired in 1994 by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke, founders of Jackson Family Wines, a globally respected group behind estates such as Anakota, Lokoya, and Vérité. Today, Tenuta di Arceno spans 1,000 hectares, with 90 hectares planted to vines across 63 distinct cru sites, underscoring its importance as one of the region’s most diverse and ambitious estates.
