Thierry Mortet’s Gevrey-Chambertin 2019 is a beautifully composed Bourgogne that captures the depth and authority this celebrated village is known for. Made from Pinot Noir and sourced from mature vines, it combines ripe fruit, finesse, and structure in a style that reflects both the character of Gevrey-Chambertin and the thoughtful hands of Domaine Thierry Mortet.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows the classic elegance of great Pinot Noir with a vibrant, inviting colour. The nose opens with aromas of red and black fruits, layered with subtle earthy and mineral nuances that add complexity and regional authenticity. On the palate, the wine is generous yet graceful, with good substance, depth, and a supple texture. The finish is full and well-balanced, offering enough structure to suggest further evolution in bottle over the next several years, where its aromas and texture will likely gain even more polish.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from 20- to 60-year-old vines planted on clay-limestone soils with varied textures, including stony ground, marl, and rocky subsoil. This diversity in terroir brings both concentration and nuance to the wine. Aging takes place with 30% in new oak barrels for 16 to 17 months, while the remaining 70% spends 5 months in tank before maturing in older barrels for 11 to 12 months, with the components blended at bottling.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Gevrey-Chambertin pairs especially well with roasted duck, game birds, lamb, mushroom dishes, and refined poultry preparations. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decanting for about 30 minutes is recommended if you want the aromas to open more fully, especially in its youth.
