Vietti Barbera d'Asti La Crena 2022 is a characterful Piedmont red that showcases just how expressive Barbera can be in the hands of a great producer. Drawn from one of the estate’s most celebrated sites, it combines ripe fruit, freshness, and polished oak influence in a style that feels both generous and refined.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-purple color that immediately signals richness and concentration. The nose opens with layered aromas of ripe red raspberries and cherries, lifted by subtle notes of vanilla, toasted bread, and warm spice. On the palate, the wine is full-flavored and well structured, with vibrant acidity that keeps the fruit lively and precise. The oak is well integrated, adding depth without overpowering the wine’s natural energy, while the finish is long, persistent, and satisfying. While already appealing now, it has the balance and concentration to develop nicely over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
La Crena comes from a highly regarded vineyard site in Asti, where Piedmont’s clay-rich soils and favorable exposure help Barbera achieve both ripeness and freshness. The grapes are carefully harvested to preserve their aromatic purity and natural acidity, then vinified with the aim of highlighting fruit intensity, structure, and site expression. Aging in oak adds texture, spice, and polish to the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roasted lamb, braised beef, mushroom dishes, and rich pasta recipes such as tagliatelle with ragù. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses and truffle-based dishes. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decant for about 30-60 minutes if drinking young to allow the aromas and texture to खुलly open up.
