Villa Matilde Avallone Vigna Caracci 2018 is a special-selection Falanghina from one of the oldest and best-sited parcels on the San Castrese estate in Campania. Produced only in the finest vintage years, it reflects both the character of this prized vineyard and the volcanic energy of the slopes of the extinct Roccamonfina volcano.

In the glass, Vigna Caracci typically shows a bright straw-yellow color with lively reflections. The nose is expressive and refined, offering layers of white flowers, citrus, ripe stone fruit, and a distinct mineral note shaped by its volcanic origins. On the palate, this wine is fresh, elegant, and well-balanced, with a clean line of acidity supporting juicy fruit and a subtle savoury edge. It has the structure to age gracefully for several years, developing more complexity and depth over time while retaining its freshness.

The grapes come from a historic Falanghina vineyard on the San Castrese estate, planted on the slopes of Mount Roccamonfina, where volcanic soils bring freshness, minerality, and depth to the wine. As only the finest vintages are selected for this bottling, the fruit is carefully harvested and vinified to preserve purity, aromatic lift, and the distinctive character of the site.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, grilled fish, white meats, and delicate vegetable dishes, as well as fresh cheeses and refined Mediterranean cuisine. Serve chilled at around 10-12°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief opening in the glass can help reveal its full aromatic profile.
