Walter Scott Cuvée Ruth Pinot Noir 2022 is a finely crafted Oregon Pinot Noir that brings together fruit from some of the Willamette Valley’s most respected sites, including Freedom Hill, Clos de Oiseaux, Bieze, and Eola Springs Vineyards. Made with natural yeast, aged for 12 months in French oak, and bottled without filtration, it offers a polished yet expressive take on the Eola-Amity Hills style with a clear sense of place.

Makuprofiili
The wine shows a color that recalls classic Burgundy, with a bright, translucent ruby tone in the glass. On the nose, it opens with dark fruit, earth, licorice, rose petals, and a touch of white pepper, creating an aromatic profile that feels both elegant and layered. On the palate, dark cherry and blackberry lead the way, followed by notes of cherry cola, cranberry, orange peel, and subtle oak spice. The finish is long and gently spiced, supported by lively acidity that keeps the wine balanced and precise. While already delicious now, it should continue to develop beautifully over the next few years.

This wine is sourced from several top vineyards across Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where the cool climate and volcanic soils of the Eola-Amity Hills help shape Pinot Noir with freshness, perfume, and tension. The grapes were naturally fermented and matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 30% new oak, before being bottled without filtration to preserve texture and purity of fruit.

This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, game birds, and herb-roasted chicken. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 14–16°C, and consider a short decant if opening young, though it is not strictly necessary. Its structure and acidity also make it a versatile match for earthy, umami-rich dishes.
