Walter Scott X Novo Vineyard Chardonnay 2022 is a striking Oregon Chardonnay that combines precision, energy, and a distinctly mineral backbone. Sourced from the carefully managed X Novo Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills, this is a small-production wine with real Burgundian appeal, made for drinkers who appreciate depth, freshness, and nuance.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a beautiful straw-yellow color that hints at its vibrancy. The nose is expressive and layered, opening with Anjou pear, peach, orange peel, citrus, white tea, vanilla, and a subtle flinty edge. On the palate, the wine mirrors the aromatic profile with bright citrus and peach at the core, supported by chamomile and a remarkable mineral intensity that gives the wine drive and length. The texture is lively and precise, with oak integrated rather than dominant. While delicious now, it has the structure and complexity to develop further over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from X Novo Vineyard in Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills, a site known for producing finely shaped, mineral-driven Chardonnay. Harvesting and sorting are done by hand, ensuring only the best fruit makes it to the cellar. After fermentation, the wine is matured in a combination of new and used oak barrels, adding subtle complexity while preserving freshness and site character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled or pan-seared fish, shellfish, lobster, creamy pasta dishes, and dishes with mushroom or citrus accents. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not necessary, though a little time in the glass will help the aromatics open up fully.
