Wayfarer Chardonnay The Estate 2022 is a striking Sonoma Coast Chardonnay that could easily be mistaken in a blind tasting for a top-tier Meursault. Built with impressive depth and precision, it combines coastal freshness, richness, and a distinctively polished oak profile. The wine reflects both the quality of the Wayfarer Vineyard site and the skill of winemaker Todd Kohn alongside owner Jayson Pahlmeyer.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a refined, luminous golden hue that hints at its richness and concentration. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with citrus butterscotch, lime zest, mango, orange blossom, elderflower, and honey. On the palate, it brings ripe pear, green apple, orange marmalade, creamy butter, and roasted almond notes, all balanced by a fresh coastal edge that keeps the wine vibrant and focused. Full malolactic fermentation and extended oak aging give it a luxurious texture and generous mouthfeel, while its structure suggests it will age beautifully for the next 8–9 years.

Viininvalmistus
This Chardonnay comes from Wayfarer Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast in California, a cool-climate site shaped by ocean influence, which helps preserve acidity and aromatic lift. The wine was fully fermented and then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 65% of them new, adding depth, spice, and creamy complexity to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for lobster, roast chicken, grilled scallops, creamy pasta, buttery fish dishes, or rich vegetable preparations with truffle or mushroom. Serve slightly chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not necessary, but a short aeration can help reveal its full aromatic range if opened young.
