Wayfarer Pinot Noir Golden Mean 2019

Wayfarer Pinot Noir Golden Mean 2019 is a striking expression of California Pinot Noir, showcasing the estate’s sandstone-rich soils and the precision of winemaker Bibiana González Rave. Built from Pinot Noir clones 37 and Dijon 777, it leans beautifully toward red-fruited elegance while still delivering depth, structure, and serious aging potential.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby color that hints at its concentration and finesse. The nose is vivid and layered, with aromas of fresh strawberries, red cherries, violets, rhubarb, mint, and a subtle earthy truffle note. On the palate, those lifted red-fruit characters return alongside raspberries, dark plums, and spice, all carried by a polished, energetic texture. This is a Pinot Noir that already drinks wonderfully now, but it also has the balance and structure to develop further over the coming years. The finish is long and expressive, leaving a graceful impression of fruit, spice, and cool minerality.

Viininvalmistus
Wayfarer Vineyard is known for its sandstone-rich soils, which contribute to the wine’s precision, aromatic lift, and distinctive sense of place. The grapes are harvested and carefully sorted by hand, and all clusters are fully destemmed before fermentation. After vinification, the wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 67% of which are new, adding subtle spice and depth without overpowering the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck breast, roast chicken, mushroom dishes, pork tenderloin, and salmon, as well as truffle-based or earthy vegetarian plates. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 15–17°C, and consider decanting for about 30 minutes if opening in its youth to let the aromatics fully unfold.
