Wayfarer Pinot Noir Golden Mean 2022

Wayfarer Pinot Noir Golden Mean 2022 is a striking expression of cool-climate California Pinot Noir, shaped by the sandstone-rich soils of Wayfarer Vineyard. Crafted by winemaker Bibiana González Rave from Pinot Noir clones 37 and Dijon 777, it leans into vibrant red-fruited character while showing the depth and polish that have made Wayfarer one of the standout names in American Pinot.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby hue, hinting at both freshness and concentration. The nose is lifted and layered, with aromas of ripe strawberries, red cherries, violets, rhubarb, mint, and a subtle truffle-like earthiness. The palate brings those same aromatic elements into focus, joined by raspberries, dark plums, and a fine thread of spice. It finishes long and graceful, with the kind of seamless energy and persistence that makes it a pleasure now, yet it also has the structure and balance to develop beautifully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Golden Mean comes from Wayfarer Vineyard, where sandstone-influenced soils play an important role in shaping the wine’s precision and aromatic lift. The grapes were harvested and sorted by hand, fully destemmed before fermentation, and then matured for 15 months in French oak barrels, 67% of which were new, adding polish and subtle spice without overshadowing the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir is a natural match for roast duck, mushroom risotto, herb-crusted salmon, grilled poultry, or dishes featuring earthy vegetables and truffles. Serve it slightly cool, around 14–16°C, and decanting is optional but can help open the wine if enjoyed young.
