Aalto 2020 Dobbeltmagnum is a powerful yet refined Ribera del Duero red, made exclusively from Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) and presented in an impressive large-format bottle that promises slow, graceful evolution in the cellar. Sourced from old vines across selected leased parcels and younger estate vineyards in Valladolid, it combines concentration, elegance, and serious aging potential. As one of the standout names from Castilla y León, Aalto has built a reputation for crafting wines that capture both the intensity of the region and the finesse of modern Spanish winemaking.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Aalto 2020 shows a deep, dense purple colour that immediately signals richness and depth. The nose is intense and layered, offering dark berries, spice, toasted oak, and subtle hints of liquorice and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with ripe tannins, concentrated fruit, and a long, harmonious finish. The 16 months of oak ageing add complexity and polish without overshadowing the wine’s core fruit, while the dobbeltmagnum format supports even slower maturation, making it especially suitable for long-term cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
This wine is made from Tempranillo grown in Ribera del Duero, with fruit coming from 40- to 80-year-old vines on carefully selected leased vineyards, alongside younger vines from Bodegas Aalto’s own parcels in Valladolid. The region’s continental climate and varied soils help produce grapes with strong concentration, freshness, and structure. Harvesting is done by hand, with only the best fruit selected for vinification, followed by ageing for 16 months in a mix of new and used French and American oak barrels to build depth and finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Aalto 2020 Dobbeltmagnum is an excellent match for red meat, game dishes, and mature hard cheeses, especially in a setting where a wine of this scale can shine alongside a substantial meal. Serve at 16–18 °C, and decant before serving to allow the aromas to open fully and the structure to soften. The large format also makes it ideal for special occasions and long dinners.
