Aalto 2020 Magnum

Aalto 2020 Magnum is a powerful yet polished Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, crafted to show both depth and finesse. Sourced from old vines and carefully selected parcels, it combines the intensity of Castilla y León’s high-altitude vineyards with the elegance that has made Aalto one of the region’s most respected names.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows an intense, deep purple colour that hints at its concentration and youth. The nose is expressive and inviting, with fresh dark fruit at the forefront, lifted by subtle notes from oak ageing. On the palate, this is a full-bodied and refined wine with a well-integrated structure. Flavours of liquorice, blackcurrant, roasted coffee, spice, and tobacco build across a long finish, while the wine’s balance suggests excellent ageing potential over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes from 40- to 80-year-old vines on leased parcels in Ribera del Duero, alongside younger vines from Aalto’s own vineyards in Valladolid. All grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted, with only the best fruit selected for vinification. The wine is then aged for 16 months in a mix of new and used French and American oak barrels, adding complexity and finesse without overpowering the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as grilled beef, roast lamb, game, braised short ribs, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially for a Magnum, to allow the wine to fully open and show its layered character.

Known for its focus on old-vine Tempranillo and meticulous vineyard selection, the winery has earned a strong reputation for producing wines of power, precision, and ageing potential, helping to define the modern style of the region.
