Aalto 2022 Magnum

Aalto 2022 Magnum is a powerful and contemporary expression of Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, crafted in magnum format for even more graceful ageing and development in bottle. Made from a selection of old-vine fruit alongside younger parcels from Aalto’s own vineyards, it combines depth, precision, and intensity with the hallmark elegance that has made Aalto one of Spain’s most respected names.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, dark color that immediately signals concentration and ripeness. The nose is intense and layered, offering ripe black fruit, spice, and subtle oak nuances that add polish without overpowering the fruit. On the palate, Aalto 2022 is concentrated yet balanced, with a firm structure and flavors of dark berries, liquorice, roasted coffee, tobacco, and vanilla. It already offers impressive accessibility in its youth, while the magnum format gives it excellent aging potential over many years, allowing the wine to evolve slowly and gain even greater complexity.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from a blend of leased old-vine parcels, some 40 to 80 years of age, and younger vines from Aalto’s own vineyards in Valladolid within Castilla y León. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, with only the best grapes selected for vinification. The wine is then aged for 16 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak barrels, a careful maturation that adds structure, complexity, and finesse to the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Aalto 2022 Magnum is an excellent match for red meats, grilled game, and richly flavored dishes that can stand up to its depth and intensity. Serve at 16–18 °C, and decanting is recommended if enjoying it young to help the wine open and reveal its full aromatic range.
