Aalto PS 2019 Dobbeltmagnum

Aalto PS 2019 Dobbeltmagnum is a more concentrated, powerful expression of Aalto, showing an extra gear in richness, depth, and intensity. Made from carefully selected parcels in La Horra and La Aguilera, this Tempranillo comes from 60- to 90-year-old vines and carries the hallmark structure and finesse that have made PS one of Ribera del Duero’s most sought-after wines.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine is nearly black, underlining its remarkable concentration. The nose is fresh yet deeply layered, with aromas of blueberries, blackberries, and dark plums, supported by clear oak tones and a touch of chocolate. The palate is opulent and expansive, unfolding with blackberries, plum liqueur, liquorice, vanilla, spice, coffee beans, and tobacco. Powerful, structured, and highly nuanced, it is a wine with significant aging potential and will continue to gain complexity over time. Even today, it remains youthful and tightly knit.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes for Aalto PS are sourced from selected plots in La Horra and La Aguilera in Castilla y León, an area known for old-vine Tempranillo with exceptional depth and concentration. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand, with the fruit carefully sorted before vinification. The wine is aged for 19 months in new French oak barrels, which adds both complexity and polish to the naturally dense fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that calls for equally serious food, especially richly flavoured dishes such as dry-aged beef, grilled ribeye, lamb, venison, or slow-cooked game. If opening it now, serve at 16-18°C and consider decanting for at least 1-2 hours to help the wine open up and show its full range.
