Aalto PS 2020 Jeroboam (500CL)

Aalto PS 2020 is the more concentrated, more powerful expression of Aalto, sourced from selected old-vine parcels and showing an extra gear at every level. Made from Tempranillo in Castilla León, it combines deep fruit, generous weight, and impressive structure, with the kind of intensity that has made PS one of the standout wines from Ribera del Duero.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it is almost ink-black, hinting immediately at its depth and concentration. The nose is vividly fruit-driven, offering blueberry, blackberry, and dark plum, layered with oak spice, a touch of chocolate, and subtle toasted notes. The palate is opulent and richly textured, unfolding in waves of blackberry, plum liqueur, liquorice, vanilla, spice, coffee bean, and tobacco. Despite its richness, the wine remains structured, nuanced, and highly complex, with the potential to evolve beautifully over time. If opened young, it will benefit from patience, and even more from cellar ageing.

Viininvalmistus
PS (Pagos Seleccionadas) is made from carefully chosen parcels in La Horra and La Aguilera, where 60- to 90-year-old vines bring depth and concentration to the fruit. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and meticulously sorted before vinification, then the wine is aged for 19 months in new French oak barrels, giving it its hallmark power, polish, and layered complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a serious wine best matched with rich, flavourful dishes such as dry-aged beef, grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or roast lamb. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1-2 hours if drinking it young to allow the wine to open fully.

Aalto was founded by Mariano García, one of Spain’s most respected winemakers, and has quickly become a benchmark name in modern Ribera del Duero. The estate is known for its focus on old vines, precision, and concentration, producing wines that have earned strong recognition for both power and elegance.
