Beran Sonoma County Zinfandel 2017

Beran Sonoma County Zinfandel 2017 is a bold, richly styled California Zinfandel that delivers plenty of ripe fruit, spice, and polished oak character. Crafted by Joe Wagner—known for his work at Caymus—this wine carries a confident, modern Sonoma expression while still staying true to the variety’s classic, generous style. Zinfandel has long been one of California’s most iconic grapes, and this bottling shows exactly why it remains so beloved.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Zinfandel offers a deep, dark profile with aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, pepper, sandalwood, dried spices, and touches of vanilla and dark chocolate. The bouquet is immediate and expressive, giving the wine a warm, inviting feel. On the palate, blueberry pie, cherry, black pepper, ripe raspberry, boysenberry, cranberry, and a hint of licorice create a layered and fruit-driven experience. Balanced acidity keeps everything in harmony, giving the wine freshness beneath its full, generous texture. It is enjoyable now for its bright fruit and richness, but should also hold well over the next few years.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Zinfandel pairs beautifully with grilled ribs, barbecue, roast lamb, pepperoni pizza, burgers, and dishes with smoky or sweet-spicy sauces. It also works well with hard cheeses and richly seasoned vegetarian dishes. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16-18°C, and decant for about 30-60 minutes if you want to soften the wine and bring out more of its layered aromatics.
