Château Angélus 1994 Magnum is a finely aged Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated estates. Crafted in a classic Merlot- and Cabernet Franc-led style, it offers the poise, structure, and depth that have made Château Angélus a benchmark for elegant Right Bank wines. This 1994 vintage reflects a moderately warm growing season, resulting in a wine with both complexity and classic Bordeaux character.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby hue with gentle brick-toned evolution at the rim, a sign of maturity and careful aging. The nose opens with layers of ripe dark berries, cedar, tobacco, and subtle spice, unfolding gradually with time in the glass. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and refined, with well-integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, graceful finish. The fruit remains supported by savory and earthy nuances, giving the wine impressive depth and harmony. Thanks to its magnum format, it still has the potential to develop further complexity over time, though it can also be enjoyed now for its mature expression.

Château Angélus is located in Saint-Émilion, where the vineyards benefit from Bordeaux’s temperate maritime climate and soils that contribute to freshness, structure, and aromatic precision. The estate’s classic blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a touch of Petit Verdot is typically harvested with careful selection to preserve the quality of each parcel. Vinification is carried out to emphasize balance, texture, and aging potential, with élevage designed to frame the fruit without overpowering the wine’s natural elegance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as roast beef, lamb, game, duck, or braised short ribs, as well as mature cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C for the best expression of its aromatics and structure. Decanting is recommended if opening now, ideally 1-2 hours before serving, to allow the wine to open fully and reveal its layered complexity.
