Château de Negly, Chardonnay IGP 2024

Château de Négly Chardonnay IGP 2024 is a fresh, approachable white wine from Languedoc that offers plenty of fruit and brightness without losing elegance. Inspired by the refined white wines of Mâconnais, it stands out for its cool-climate character, lively acidity, and a light touch of oak that adds subtle complexity rather than weight.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a clear, bright appearance that reflects its fresh style. The nose is expressive and fruit-driven, with notes of ripe pear, peach, and a gentle hint of citrus, supported by soft vanilla and a discreet toastiness from partial oak ageing. On the palate, it is clean and supple with a lively acidity that keeps the wine crisp and refreshing. The fruit remains front and center, delivering ripe orchard fruits and a smooth, uncomplicated texture, finishing with a fresh, pure edge. This wine is best enjoyed young for its vibrancy, though it can develop a little more roundness over the next 1-2 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from the cooler, higher valleys of Languedoc, where slower ripening helps preserve freshness and natural acidity. This terroir gives the wine its balance between ripe southern fruit and a more restrained, elegant profile. Vinification is kept intentionally light, with only 10-20% of the wine aged in oak barrels depending on the vintage, allowing the fruit character to remain at the forefront while adding just a subtle layer of texture and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve chilled at around 8-10°C to highlight its freshness and fruit purity. It works well with grilled fish, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, shellfish, and fresh goat cheese. Decanting is not necessary.
