Château Latour 2000

Château Latour 2000 is one of the defining wines of modern Pauillac: powerful, precise, and built for the long haul. In the glass, Château Latour 2000 is deeply colored and almost impenetrable, with a dark, concentrated core that hints at its seriousness. The nose unfolds with layers of blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, violet, and tobacco, joined by subtle spice and a mineral edge that adds lift and definition. On the palate, the wine is intense, dense, and full-bodied, with exceptional structure and firm yet mature tannins. There is impressive depth to the dark fruit, along with savory notes of earth, lead pencil, and fine oak, finishing with remarkable length and aristocratic restraint. While already compelling, this is a wine with immense aging potential and can continue to evolve gracefully for decades.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes for Château Latour come primarily from the estate’s historic Enclos vineyard, a prized site near the Gironde estuary where gravel and clay soils provide excellent drainage and ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit is hand-harvested and rigorously sorted before vinification, with careful attention paid to preserving purity, structure, and balance. The wine is then matured in new French oak barrels for up to 20 months, allowing it to gain complexity, texture, and polish without losing its formidable sense of place.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best served with richly flavored dishes such as beef Wellington, roast lamb, venison, or truffle-infused preparations, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for several hours if opening now, especially to allow the wine’s remarkable structure and aromatics to fully open.
