Château Latour 2000 - magnum

Château Latour 2000 in magnum is a standout release from one of Bordeaux’s most revered First Growth estates. Powerful, precise, and built on the deep structure of Pauillac’s gravelly soils, it combines immense concentration with remarkable elegance and is widely regarded as one of the great wines of the vintage.

In the glass, this wine shows a deep, dense ruby core that hints at its scale and longevity. The nose is layered and refined, with ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, tobacco, and subtle earthy spice unfolding with impressive purity. On the palate, it is full-bodied and tightly structured, yet remarkably balanced, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a core of dark fruit that remains fresh and focused rather than heavy. The finish is exceptionally long, carrying notes of cassis, crushed stone, and fine oak spice. Thanks to its concentration and symmetry, this is a wine with enormous aging potential, and the magnum format only enhances its slow evolution over time.

Viininvalmistus
Château Latour’s vineyards sit on exceptional Pauillac terroir, with deep gravel soils over clay and a warm, stone-rich surface that helps ripen Cabernet Sauvignon to great intensity. The estate’s old vines and low yields contribute to the depth and precision for which the grand vin is known. Harvesting is carried out parcel by parcel to capture perfect ripeness, and the wine is crafted with meticulous selection before fermentation and élevage in oak to preserve purity, structure, and finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined, richly flavored dishes such as roast beef, lamb, venison, duck breast, or truffled mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and allow it to breathe well before serving; decanting is strongly recommended, especially if the bottle is being opened young, to reveal its full aromatic range and soften the tannins.
