Château Latour 2017 is a classic expression of one of Bordeaux’s most revered First Growth estates, offering depth, precision, and remarkable pedigree in every glass. Sourced from the historic Pauillac property with roots tracing back to the 14th century, it reflects the house’s long tradition of producing powerful yet finely structured wines of exceptional longevity.

In the glass, Château Latour 2017 typically shows a deep, dark ruby colour that hints at its concentration and serious structure. The nose is layered and complex, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, dried herbs, and subtle floral notes, all supported by finely tuned oak and a mineral edge. On the palate, the wine is dense and focused, combining ripe dark fruit with firm but polished tannins, fresh acidity, and the signature Pauillac profile of gravel-driven minerality and tobacco-like nuance. This is a wine built for the long haul, with excellent aging potential over decades as it gradually develops more secondary and tertiary complexity.

Château Latour is based in Pauillac in Bordeaux, on an exceptional terroir of deep gravel and clay soils topped with large rounded stones that absorb and slowly release heat, helping the grapes ripen evenly. The 78-hectare vineyard is planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller proportions of Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc, and the estate has increasingly focused on more sustainable vineyard practices in recent years. The 2017 vintage is crafted through meticulous parcel selection and precise vinification to preserve purity, structure, and the character of the estate’s renowned terroir.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a superb match for roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game dishes, truffle-infused plates, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended, especially if opening young, to allow the wine to slowly open and show its full aromatic depth and refined structure.
