Château Latour à Pomerol 1982

Château Latour à Pomerol 1982 is a beautifully mature Bordeaux from one of Pomerol’s most admired estates, offering the depth and opulence that made the vintage legendary. Built on Merlot’s plush fruit and shaped by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it delivers remarkable richness, aromatic complexity, and the silky, seamless texture that has made the 1982 vintage so celebrated. Today, it stands as a superb example of fully evolved Right Bank Bordeaux at its most generous and expressive.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a medium garnet color with amber highlights at the rim, reflecting its maturity. The bouquet is highly aromatic and layered, with notes of sweet caramel, jammy kirsch, vanilla, licorice, spice box, and subtle Asian spice, all wrapped in a fragrant, lifted profile. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, plush, and deeply opulent, with sweet concentrated fruit, low acidity, and ripe tannins that have melted into the wine’s overall structure. The finish is smooth, generous, and beautifully integrated. This is a wine at full maturity and is unlikely to improve further, but it can still provide exceptional pleasure when well stored and carefully served.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, or truffle-based recipes. It also pairs elegantly with mushroom dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant gently for about 30–60 minutes if needed to remove sediment, though older bottles should be handled carefully and opened with minimal air exposure.
