Château Margaux 2005

Château Margaux 2005 is a magnificent First Growth from one of Bordeaux’s most legendary estates, combining power, purity, and effortless finesse. Built around Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this vintage captures everything that makes Margaux so revered: lifted perfume, depth of fruit, and an unmistakably aristocratic style. In the glass, Château Margaux 2005 shows deep, concentrated color and remarkable vibrancy for a wine of its stature. The nose is expansive and highly perfumed, opening with blackcurrant, red and dark berries, violets, spring flowers, cedar, spice, and subtle notes of new leather and graphite. On the palate, it is dense and layered yet remarkably refined, with a core of ripe fruit wrapped in polished tannins and bright, energetic acidity. There is impressive length, precision, and a sense of inner sweetness that gives the wine its signature elegance. While already approachable, this is a wine with outstanding aging potential and can develop beautifully for decades.

Viininvalmistus
Château Margaux comes from prime terroir in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, where gravel-rich soils and excellent drainage help Cabernet Sauvignon achieve remarkable finesse and aromatic lift. The estate is carefully managed to preserve older vines, which contribute concentration and complexity, and only the best parcels are selected for the grand vin. Harvesting is done with great precision, followed by traditional vinification focused on extracting deep color, structure, and fragrance while maintaining the wine’s hallmark elegance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that deserves classic pairings such as roast beef, lamb, duck breast, venison, or truffle-infused dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for several hours if opening young, as it benefits from air and will reveal more of its layered perfume and structure.
