Château Margaux 2007 is a refined example of one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated First Growths, offering the grace, precision, and depth that have made this estate legendary for centuries. While 2007 is a more approachable vintage than some of the estate’s powerhouse years, it still shows the unmistakable signature of Château Margaux: elegance, aromatic complexity, and remarkable balance.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby color with youthful clarity beginning to soften at the rim. The nose opens with incense, iris, blackberry, tobacco, and a subtle graphite note, giving a classic Left Bank profile that is more restrained than opulent but beautifully composed. On the palate, the 2007 Château Margaux is supple and poised, with black fruit layered over tobacco, graphite, and a touch of spice. The structure is elegant rather than forceful, with polished tannins and a balanced finish that still carries enough substance for further development. It is fully mature now, but can continue to evolve gracefully for another 15-20 years.

Viininvalmistus
Château Margaux lies on some of the finest terroir in the Margaux appellation, with gravelly soils that favor Cabernet Sauvignon and help produce wines of precision, freshness, and aromatic lift. The estate is planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with old vines carefully maintained to preserve concentration and character. The winemaking aims to respect the fruit and terroir through meticulous vineyard work and traditional vinification, resulting in a wine that combines power with finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is a natural match for premium dishes such as roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, venison, or truffle-inflected mushroom dishes. It is best served at 16-18°C and, given its age and structure, benefits from decanting for about 1-2 hours before serving to help the aromas open fully.
