Château Montrose 2000 is a classic Saint-Estèphe wine from one of Bordeaux’s most respected Second Growth estates. Built on strict grape selection and crafted for longevity, it combines power, precision, and elegance in a style that has made Montrose one of the most sought-after names in the Médoc.

In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby to garnet color with impressive concentration. The nose is layered and complex, offering dark berries, blackcurrant, crushed stone, cedar, and subtle floral nuances, with the aromatic depth becoming more expressive as the wine opens. On the palate, Château Montrose 2000 is structured and firmly built, with dense fruit, a refined texture, and powerful but polished tannins. The wine is full of energy and tension, balancing richness with freshness and a distinctly classic Saint-Estèphe backbone. It already shows remarkable maturity, but its real strength lies in its aging potential, with the ability to evolve beautifully over decades.

Château Montrose’s vineyard sits on a single 95-hectare block around the château and its buildings, an unusually continuous and historic estate in Bordeaux. The terroir is ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, with warm gravel soils over clay that help retain moisture during dry periods, while Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot add softness, perfume, and spice. The grand vin is produced through rigorous selection at every stage, and the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine made for rich, savory dishes such as roast lamb, beef Wellington, entrecôte, venison, or slow-braised short ribs. It also pairs beautifully with mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and decant several hours in advance if possible, especially if the bottle is still youthful or has been stored for a long time.
