Château Montrose La Dame De Montrose 2015

La Dame de Montrose 2015 is the second wine of one of Saint-Estèphe’s most respected estates, Château Montrose, a 2nd Growth classified in 1855. Crafted with the same precision as the grand vin, it offers remarkable depth, purity and refinement from younger vines, making it a more approachable expression of Montrose’s unmistakable style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with a vibrant, polished edge. The bouquet is expressive and elegant, unfolding with black cherry, blueberry, violet and subtle floral notes, supported by hints of spice and well-integrated oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with a supple, layered texture and fine tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and freshness, while Merlot adds generosity and a plush core. The finish is long and balanced, and although it can be enjoyed now with some air, it should continue to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Château Montrose’s historic Saint-Estèphe vineyard, where gravelly, well-drained soils over clay provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and help preserve moisture in warmer, drier periods. Harvesting is done by hand, followed by careful double sorting, first mechanically and then by hand, to ensure only the best fruit is retained. After gentle pressing, the wine undergoes a 25-day temperature-controlled maceration and is aged for around 12 months in French oak, with about 30% new barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, game birds and mushroom-based dishes, as well as aged cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow its aromatics and texture to fully open.
