Château Mouton Rothschild 2000

Château Mouton Rothschild 2000 is one of the great names of Bordeaux in a landmark vintage, combining power, precision, and unmistakable pedigree. Built around Cabernet Sauvignon and celebrated for its depth, structure, and longevity, it comes from one of the most iconic estates in Pauillac, whose history is intertwined with art, prestige, and some of the finest wines ever made.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows the deep, concentrated color expected of a grand Pauillac, with youthful intensity still evident even in maturity. The nose is layered and complex, unfolding with blackcurrant, cedar, graphite, tobacco, espresso, and subtle floral nuances, all framed by earthy undertones and fine oak spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, with cassis, dark cherry, cocoa, coffee, and mineral notes carried by firm, polished tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with impressive structure and freshness, suggesting excellent aging potential well beyond the early decades of its life; in a strong cellar, it can continue to evolve beautifully for years to come.

Viininvalmistus
Château Mouton Rothschild lies on the celebrated gravel soils of Pauillac in the Médoc, where the vineyard’s deep, well-drained terroir is ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate’s parcels, including the famed Plateau de Mouton, are densely planted and carefully tended by hand, with meticulous attention paid to pruning, canopy work, and harvest timing to ensure optimal ripeness. Vinification is carried out with precision at the château, where each parcel is managed separately before the final blend is assembled to reflect the character of the vintage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine for classic, richly flavored dishes such as prime rib, lamb, venison, beef Wellington, or truffle-infused dishes, as well as hard aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and if opening now, decanting for at least 1–2 hours is recommended to help the wine reveal its full aromatic range and soften its tannins.
