Château Palmer 2017

Château Palmer 2017 is one of Margaux’s most celebrated wines, known for its remarkable depth, finesse, and impressive aging potential. Often mentioned in the same breath as the very best of Bordeaux, it combines power with elegance in a way that has made the estate a benchmark in the region for generations.

In the glass, Château Palmer 2017 typically shows a deep ruby to garnet hue with excellent concentration. The nose is layered and refined, offering dark berries, blackcurrant, plum, violets, cedar, graphite, and subtle hints of spice and earth. On the palate, it is structured yet silky, with ripe tannins, vibrant acidity, and a core of dark fruit supported by mineral tones, tobacco, and finely integrated oak. The finish is long and composed, suggesting excellent development over time. While already impressive, this is a wine built for the cellar and will continue to gain complexity for many years.

Château Palmer is located in Margaux, on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravelly soils and a favorable maritime climate help produce wines with both aromatic lift and firm structure. The estate is farmed biodynamically, with a strong focus on biodiversity, soil health, and minimal intervention in the vineyard. The grapes are harvested carefully, typically by hand, to ensure only the best fruit reaches the cellar. Vinification is carried out with precision to preserve purity, texture, and terroir expression, followed by aging in oak to build complexity and balance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, venison, or truffle-infused dishes. It also works well with aged hard cheeses and rich mushroom-based preparations. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and structure to open fully.
