Château Palmer 2019

Château Palmer 2019 is one of Margaux’s most celebrated wines, combining impressive power with the refinement and perfume that make this estate so distinctive. Crafted from biodynamically farmed vineyards and known for its depth, structure, and remarkable ageing potential, it reflects the modern excellence that has made Château Palmer a benchmark in Bordeaux.

Makuprofiili
Deep and intense in appearance, the wine shows the concentration one expects from a great Left Bank red. The nose is layered and expressive, with sweet tobacco, stone fruit nuances, brambleberry, currant, and subtle hints of earth and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, compact, and highly structured, with polished yet sturdy tannins and lively acidity that gives the wine energy and lift. There is both muscle and agility here, and the finish feels long, precise, and harmonious. This is a wine built for the cellar and will benefit from at least several years of bottle age before revealing its full complexity, with the potential to evolve beautifully for decades.

Viininvalmistus
Château Palmer sits in Margaux on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravelly soils and a temperate Atlantic-influenced climate provide ideal conditions for producing elegant, age-worthy wines. The estate has undergone a full biodynamic conversion, with vineyard work focused on biodiversity, soil health, and careful parcel selection. Harvesting is carried out with precision, and the vinification aims to preserve purity of fruit, structure, and the fine aromatic character that defines the château’s style.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb rack, duck breast, venison, or truffle-inflected mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended, especially in its youth, to help the wine open and soften its tannins; a few hours in a decanter will reveal more of its aromatic detail.

Château Palmer is one of the most respected estates in Margaux, with a history dating back to 1814 when Charles Palmer acquired the property. Over time, it has earned a reputation as one of the few châteaux in Margaux capable of rivaling Château Margaux in quality and finesse. Under the leadership of Thomas Duroux since 2006, the estate has become a leader in biodynamic viticulture and continues to receive acclaim for wines of exceptional structure, depth, and longevity.
