Château Pontet-Canet 2005 Magnum is a striking Pauillac built on power, precision, and remarkable finesse. Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby color that signals both concentration and age-worthy depth. The nose is richly layered, opening with blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, followed by notes of tobacco, cedar, vanilla, dark chocolate, leather, earthy spice, and a subtle smoky edge. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet composed, with silky, well-integrated tannins and a core of ripe dark fruit framed by savory spice and mineral freshness. It has excellent balance, impressive length, and a velvety texture that reflects both maturity and structure. Already drinking beautifully, it still has the backbone to develop further over the coming decades.

Viininvalmistus
Pontet-Canet is located in Pauillac on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravel-rich soils and a classic maritime climate provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The estate is known for its biodynamic approach, which is intended to express the character of the terroir with as little intervention as possible. The grapes are typically harvested with close attention to ripeness, and the wine is vinified with a focus on purity, precision, and depth before ageing in oak to build complexity and polish.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is a natural match for grilled or roasted beef, lamb, venison, braised short ribs, and other richly flavored dishes, as well as mature cheeses such as Comté or Roquefort. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least one to two hours if opening now, especially to let the magnum fully unfold.
