Château Pontet-Canet 2006 Magnum

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a deep, almost opaque ruby colour that immediately signals concentration and depth. The nose opens with intense aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry and cassis, layered with cedar, graphite and violet, before unfolding into darker notes of dark chocolate, tobacco and subtle spice. The palate is powerful yet impeccably balanced, with dense fruit carried by vivid freshness and a firm but beautifully refined tannic structure. Complexity builds layer by layer, revealing mineral tones, dark spice and that unmistakable Pauillac character, leading to a long, elegant finish. While already impressive, it has the structure and energy to evolve gracefully over many years.

Viininvalmistus
Château Pontet-Canet is located in Pauillac on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravelly soils and an excellent maritime climate provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon-led blends. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, with a strong emphasis on working in harmony with the land and preserving the expression of each parcel. Harvesting is carried out with great care, and vinification is designed to respect the fruit and terroir, resulting in a wine of precision, depth and clarity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Magnum is a superb partner for rich, flavourful dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, beef Wellington or game with earthy sauces. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses and truffle-based dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 2–3 hours if drinking now to allow the wine to fully open.
