This Château Pontet-Canet Vertical Case brings together six outstanding vintages from one of Pauillac’s most admired estates: 2008 through 2013. Directly sourced from the château and presented in specially designed cases, it offers a rare opportunity to explore how Pontet-Canet’s biodynamic approach and Cabernet-led style evolve across a remarkable run of years, including two vintages awarded 100 points by Robert Parker.

Across the vertical, Pontet-Canet consistently shows the depth and power that have made it a benchmark in Pauillac. The wines range from the opaque purple concentration of 2008 and the black-as-night intensity of 2009 and 2010, to the more poised, berry-driven 2011–2013 vintages, all with the classic mix of cassis, black cherry, graphite, cedar, violets, smoke, and subtle earthy complexity. On the palate, these are full-bodied wines with impressive structure, polished tannins, and remarkable freshness. The 2008 is richer and more approachable in its youth, while 2009 and 2010 are monumental, cellar-worthy wines built for decades of aging. The 2011, 2012, and 2013 add nuance and elegance, showing ripe fruit, integrated tannins, and long, velvet-textured finishes. This is a case designed for collectors who appreciate both immediate insight and long-term ageing potential.

Viininvalmistus
Pontet-Canet’s vineyards lie on the high plateau of Pauillac, close to some of the region’s most famous neighbours, with gravelly soils that are ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and its supporting varieties. The estate is farmed biodynamically, with yields kept low and careful attention paid to preserving the vitality of the vineyard. Harvesting is carried out by hand when the fruit is fully ripe, and vinification is handled with precision to preserve purity, texture, and the site’s distinctive mineral imprint. Some recent vintages also saw a small portion aged in cement vats alongside oak, helping to sharpen freshness and finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
These wines are a natural match for premium cuts of beef, lamb, venison, duck breast, truffle dishes, and rich mushroom-based cuisine, as well as hard aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, allowing the wine to breathe before drinking. For the more powerful vintages, especially 2009 and 2010, decanting is recommended, though an older bottle should be handled with care to preserve its aromatic detail.
