Château Rocheyron 2019

Château Rocheyron 2019 is a finely crafted Saint-Émilion red that highlights precision, freshness, and elegance over sheer power. Blending 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, it reflects Peter Sisseck’s restrained, terroir-driven approach and the estate’s focus on preserving fruit purity and finesse. This is a modern Bordeaux with old-school balance, made from a vineyard site that has long been associated with quality but is still being carefully refined.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, polished color that hints at its concentration without appearing heavy. The nose is expressive and layered, with ripe cherries, blackcurrant, wild strawberry, and a lifted floral note of rose petals, gradually opening to reveal mineral nuances, limestone, and a subtle violet perfume. On the palate, it is fresh, elegant, and beautifully composed, with fine-grained tannins and a lively, supple texture. The fruit is ripe but not overblown, and the wine carries a refined mineral edge that gives length and definition. It is already impressive, but its structure and balance suggest excellent aging potential over the coming decade and beyond.

Viininvalmistus
The 8-hectare estate is planted on varied soils, and the cellar work is tailored to reflect those differences, with fermentation carried out in seven concrete vats and three stainless-steel tanks of different sizes. The grapes are vinified with a view to preserving fruit expression and site character, then matured for 15 months in French oak barrels, of which only 35% are new. The wine is bottled without prior fining or filtration to maintain texture and aromatic detail.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, or mushroom-based dishes, especially those with earthy sauces. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours before drinking to soften the tannins and allow the aromatic profile to open fully.

Château Rocheyron is a collaboration between Peter Sisseck and Silvio Denz, combining deep technical expertise with a strong commitment to quality and terroir. Founded in 2009 after the purchase of vineyard land bordering Château Laroque in Saint-Émilion, the estate has quickly become known for its refined, elegant style. Denz brought his entrepreneurial background from the luxury and wine worlds, while Sisseck has applied a meticulous, patient vision aimed at unlocking the vineyard’s full potential through organic conversion and careful cellar work.
