Château Rocheyron 2021

Château Rocheyron 2021 is a finely poised Bordeaux from Peter Sisseck and Silvio Denz, combining Merlot’s generosity with Cabernet Franc’s aromatic lift and structure. Made from a small 8-hectare estate and crafted with a clear focus on finesse rather than sheer power, it reflects a modern, terroir-driven take on Saint-Émilion with real elegance and freshness.

Makuprofiili
The wine shows impressive aromatic depth and becomes more layered as it opens in the glass. Expect ripe cherries, blackcurrants and wild strawberries, wrapped in a delicate perfume of rosehip and floral notes. On the palate it is fresh, graceful and beautifully balanced, with a supple texture and lively fruit framed by refined oak. The style is more about precision and nuance than weight, and it should age well over the coming years, gaining complexity and harmony with time.

Viininvalmistus
The estate covers just over 8 hectares near Château Laroque in Bordeaux, with vineyards long associated with grape growing and now being carefully converted to organic farming. The grapes are 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, harvested and vinified in seven concrete vats and three stainless-steel tanks sized to match the different soil parcels. The wine is then matured for 15 months in barrel, with only 35% new oak, and bottled without fining or filtration to preserve fruit and expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roast duck, lamb, beef fillet, wild mushroom dishes or mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours before serving to allow the wine to soften and show more perfume and complexity.

Château Rocheyron is a joint venture between Peter Sisseck, famed for his work in Ribera del Duero, and Silvio Denz, the entrepreneur behind Lalique and an established name in wine and luxury goods. Founded after the purchase of land adjoining Château Laroque in 2009, the project brings together serious investment, meticulous vineyard work and a long-term vision for producing refined Bordeaux. Rocheyron is still in its development phase, but it already stands out for its ambition, precision and commitment to expressing finesse in the glass.
