Domaine du Pegau’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2015 is a flagship red from one of the Southern Rhône’s most admired estates. Built around a Grenache-led blend of up to 13 grape varieties, it combines old-school richness, aromatic complexity, and impressive structure in a way that has earned it a devoted following among Rhône lovers. This is a wine with real pedigree and the kind of depth that reflects both the character of the appellation and the estate’s traditional approach.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the 2015 Cuvée Réservée shows a deep, dark colour that hints at its concentration and maturity. The nose is generous and layered, with blackberry, dark plum, black tea, black pepper, fresh rosemary, thyme, and evolving notes of leather and sandalwood as it opens. On the palate, it delivers impressive power without losing finesse, with ripe dark fruit at the core and spice notes of clove and white pepper weaving through the finish. The wine is structured for the long haul and will continue to develop beautifully over the next 5 years, while remaining at a very high level for around 20 years or more.

Viininvalmistus
Produced from a traditional blend dominated by around 80% Grenache, with Mourvèdre, Syrah, and other permitted varieties completing the cuvée, this wine reflects the classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir of sun-soaked galets, sand, and Mediterranean garrigue. The grapes are fermented with whole clusters in cement vats, using native yeasts, before maturing for two years in used oak barrels, a method that preserves purity of fruit while adding complexity and texture.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a superb match for roast lamb, grilled game, slow-braised beef, duck confit, and richly flavoured Mediterranean dishes with herbs and garlic. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for at least an hour, or longer if the bottle is young, to allow the aromas and tannins to fully open.
