Domaine du Pegau’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2020 is one of the estate’s signature wines and a benchmark for traditional Rhône style. Built around a Grenache-led blend of 13 grape varieties, it combines impressive depth, remarkable structure, and the kind of complexity that has earned it a loyal following around the world.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the 2020 vintage shows a deep, dark ruby core with plenty of concentration. The nose opens with blackberry, dark plum, black tea, black pepper, and fresh Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and thyme, gradually unfolding with air to reveal notes of leather and sandalwood. The palate is powerful yet composed, delivering layers of dark fruit, clove, white pepper, and the same herbal freshness found on the nose. There is real finesse beneath the richness, with firm but polished tannins and excellent length. This is a wine with serious aging potential: approachable with patience now, but it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 5 years and should hold at a very high level for 20–25 years.

Viininvalmistus
Cuvée Réservée is crafted in a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape style, from a blend of 13 grape varieties dominated by around 80% Grenache, with Mourvèdre and Syrah adding structure and spice. The grapes are harvested as whole clusters, then fermented in cement tanks with native yeasts and no added yeast, preserving freshness and terroir expression. The wine is then matured for two years in used oak barrels, allowing it to develop complexity without losing its aromatic precision.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a superb match for rich, flavorful dishes such as roast lamb, beef short ribs, game, duck confit, or herb-crusted grilled meats. It also works beautifully with stews, mushrooms, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is strongly recommended, especially in its youth, to let the wine open fully and reveal its layered aromatics and texture.
