Domaine du Pegau’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2021 is one of the Southern Rhône’s benchmark wines, loved for its depth, character, and remarkable value in a world-class appellation. Made from a traditional blend of 13 grape varieties and led by Grenache, it captures the wild, spicy, old-vine charm that has made Pegau such a cult favorite. Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a deeply colored, brooding red with an inviting sense of concentration. The nose opens with blackberry, dark plum, black tea, black pepper, and lifted notes of fresh rosemary and thyme, gradually unfolding into leather and sandalwood with air. The palate is generous and layered, delivering dark fruit wrapped in savory spice, including clove and white pepper, alongside the herbal character hinted at on the nose. Despite its richness and scale, the wine retains impressive balance and detail, with a long, structured finish. Built to age beautifully, it should continue improving over the next 5 years and can easily hold at a very high level for 20 to 25 years.

Viininvalmistus
Sourced from the stony, sun-baked terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Southern Rhône, the wine reflects the heat, rugged soils, and Mediterranean influence that give the appellation its signature depth and spice. The grapes are harvested and handled with great care, with whole clusters pressed before fermentation in cement tanks without added yeast. The wine is then matured for two years in older oak barrels, allowing complexity and texture to develop while preserving the purity of the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an ideal partner for hearty dishes such as roast lamb, beef stew, grilled game, duck confit, or herb-crusted pork. It also works beautifully with mushroom-based dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if possible, especially when opened young, to let the wine fully reveal its aromatic layers and structure.
