Domaine du Pégau’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2023 is a beautifully authentic expression of the Southern Rhône, offering the warmth, depth, and character this appellation is celebrated for. Crafted mainly from Grenache with supporting Syrah and Mourvèdre, it reflects both tradition and finesse, while the 300cl format makes it ideal for special occasions and aging.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby core with vivid purple reflections, hinting at both power and freshness. The nose is generous and layered, with ripe red berries, blackberries, and cherries unfolding into violets, rose petals, cracked pepper, and the wild herbal notes of garrigue. On the palate, it is supple yet structured, with silky tannins, juicy fruit, and a long, spicy finish that lingers with excellent energy. While already expressive and enjoyable now, it has the concentration and balance to develop greater complexity and harmony over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from old Rhône vineyards rooted in the region’s classic terroir of sun-drenched slopes and soils rich in round river stones, clay, and limestone. The fruit is harvested with care, and fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts before the wine is matured for around two years in large foudres, preserving purity of fruit while building texture and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural partner for grilled lamb, roast meats, game, and mature cheeses, especially dishes with herbs or a touch of rustic seasoning. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about an hour if possible to allow the wine to fully open and show its aromatic depth.

Domaine du Pégau is a family-run estate led by the Féraud family and is widely respected as one of the most traditional and distinctive producers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The domaine has earned a strong reputation for wines that combine old-school Southern Rhône character with remarkable consistency, structure, and aging potential.
