Domaine du Pégau’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réservée 2018 is one of the estate’s most celebrated wines, and in this impressive 600 cl format it becomes a true centrepiece for serious collectors and large gatherings alike. Built on a classic Southern Rhône blend led by Grenache and backed by Mourvèdre and Syrah, it combines depth, complexity and remarkable aging potential with the kind of character that has earned it a devoted following worldwide.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, dark ruby tone that hints at its concentration and power. The nose is richly layered with blackberry, dark plum, black tea, black pepper, fresh rosemary and thyme, and with time in the glass, notes of leather and sandalwood begin to emerge. The palate is full-bodied and deeply expressive, delivering ripe dark fruit, clove, white pepper and the same herbal notes found on the nose. Despite its intensity, the wine carries impressive balance and finesse, with a long, structured finish that suggests excellent development over the next 5 years and the ability to age gracefully for 20 to 25 years or more.

Viininvalmistus
Produced in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône, the Réservée reflects the region’s warm Mediterranean climate, stony soils and old-vine character. The wine is made from a traditional field blend of 13 grape varieties, with about 80% Grenache, and the grapes are vinified using whole clusters, fermentation in cement tanks with native yeasts, and a two-year élevage in used oak barrels to preserve purity while adding complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for slow-roasted lamb, game, beef stew, grilled ribeye, herb-crusted rack of lamb or rich mushroom dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for at least 1–2 hours is recommended to allow the wine to fully open, especially in this large-format bottle.
