Domaine du Pegau Da Capo 2007 Magnum is the estate’s ultimate cuvée, produced only in exceptional vintages and regarded by many as one of the great wines of the Rhône. Made with extraordinary care from a tiny selection of fruit, it stands as a benchmark for traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape and a wine often mentioned alongside the region’s most legendary bottles.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Da Capo 2007 is deeply colored, almost inky, with a striking violet rim. The nose is intensely layered and aromatic, offering waves of ripe black plum, blackberry, cracked pepper, liquorice, smoked meat, truffle, crème de cassis, violets, and classic Provençal herbs and spices. The palate is profoundly concentrated yet impeccably balanced, with dark fruit, spice, and savoury complexity unfolding in seamless succession. The finish is remarkably long and persistent, showing the structure and depth to age beautifully for many years, especially in magnum format.

Viininvalmistus
Da Capo is crafted from selected grapes drawn from three different vineyards, with fruit chosen almost fruit by fruit for this special bottling. The blend is Grenache-led, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre alongside a number of other Rhône varieties, reflecting the complexity of the region’s traditional field-blend heritage. The wine is made with minimal intervention: whole clusters are pressed, fermentation takes place over about 10 days in cement tanks with native yeasts, and the wine is then matured for two years in carefully selected old oak barrels before release.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine for richly flavoured dishes such as slow-roasted lamb, game, beef short ribs, truffle-infused dishes, or mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for several hours, especially if opened young, to allow the wine’s full aromatic and textural complexity to emerge.
