Domaine du Pegau Da Capo 2015 is the estate’s rarest and most prestigious wine, produced only in exceptional vintages and widely regarded as one of the great bottles of the Rhône. Often compared with the very best wines of the region, it is a powerful, age-worthy blend that reflects Laurence Féraud’s uncompromising approach and the historic depth of Châteauneuf-du-Pape winemaking.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Da Capo 2015 is inky and deeply colored, with a vivid purple edge that hints at its concentration. The nose is extraordinarily layered, opening with ripe black plum and blackberry before unfolding into cracked black pepper, liquorice, smoked meat, truffle, crème de cassis, violets, and warm Provençal herbs. The palate is dense and highly concentrated, yet remarkably balanced, with dark fruit and spicy pepperiness taking the lead through a long, complex finish. Built for the cellar, this wine has the structure and intensity to evolve beautifully over many years, gaining further nuance and savory complexity with age.

Viininvalmistus
Da Capo is made from a selection of fruit grown on three different parcels, with a blend that includes Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and several other traditional Rhône varieties. The vineyards benefit from the warm, sun-drenched terroir of the Rhône, and the fruit is chosen with exceptional precision for this cuvée. Whole clusters are pressed and fermented for around 10 days in cement tanks with no added yeast, followed by two years of maturation in carefully selected old oak barrels to preserve purity and expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine for rich, deeply flavored dishes such as slow-braised lamb, game, venison, roast beef, truffle-infused cuisine, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for several hours, especially when opening it young, to allow the wine’s full aromatic range and structure to emerge.
