Domaine du Pegau Da Capo 2020 is the estate’s rare flagship wine, produced only in exceptional vintages and revered by collectors as one of the great wines of the Rhône. Built from an old-school blend led by Grenache and shaped by meticulous selection, it combines power, depth, and extraordinary complexity in a style that has drawn comparisons with the most iconic wines of the region.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Da Capo shows a deep, almost ink-like color with a vivid purple edge. The nose is intensely layered and expressive, unfolding with dark plum, blackberry, freshly cracked pepper, liquorice, smoked meat, truffle, crème de cassis, violets, and classic Provençal herbs. The palate is massively concentrated yet impeccably balanced, with rich dark fruit, spice, and savory depth carried by finely judged structure and remarkable energy. The finish is exceptionally long and persistent, and this is a wine built for patience, with the potential to evolve beautifully over many years, even decades.

Viininvalmistus
Da Capo is crafted from grapes sourced from three different vineyards and assembled only after an extremely selective process. The blend is dominated by Grenache, with Mourvèdre and Syrah contributing structure and nuance, while additional traditional Rhône varieties are included in small proportions to complete the wine’s complexity. Fermentation takes place in cement vats with whole clusters and native yeasts, with minimal intervention throughout, followed by two years of maturation in carefully chosen old oak casks.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that calls for equally impressive food: slow-braised lamb, venison, beef cheeks, game birds, truffled dishes, or rich Mediterranean cuisine with herbs and roasted vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant well in advance to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to open fully.
