Domaine Leflaive Auxey-Duresses 2022 is a beautifully understated Burgundy white that delivers the signature precision and elegance of Leflaive in a more approachable style. Made from 100% Chardonnay from vineyards close to Meursault, it combines finesse, depth, and a distinctly mineral character, with the added interest of biodynamic farming and a winemaking approach that respects purity and terroir.

In the glass, the wine shows a brilliant golden hue that hints at its richness and energy. The nose opens with bright citrus, white flowers, and a delicate nutty note, all lifted by a subtle mineral edge that gives the wine real definition. On the palate, it is lively and finely balanced, with fresh acidity, ripe stone fruit, and a gentle creamy texture that adds shape without weighing it down. The finish is long and mineral-driven, leaving a clean, elegant impression. While enjoyable in its youth for its freshness and clarity, it also has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 5 to 8 years.

Viininvalmistus
The vineyards in Auxey-Duresses sit close to Meursault, sharing many of the same geological traits that help produce Chardonnay wines with both tension and depth. Domaine Leflaive farms the fruit biodynamically and harvests the grapes by hand to ensure quality and precision. Vinification is carried out with minimal intervention, using natural fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, with a careful proportion of new oak to add complexity without masking the wine’s pure fruit expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs especially well with shellfish, delicate fish dishes, and lighter poultry preparations, where its freshness and structure can shine. Serve it well chilled, ideally around 10-12°C, and decanting is not usually necessary unless you want to open up its aromas a little in advance.
