Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine is bright and refined, with a pale golden hue that hints at its concentration and quality. The nose is expressive and inviting, unfolding with ripe lemon, white flowers, green apple, and a subtle spice from careful oak aging, all lifted by a distinct mineral edge reminiscent of wet stone and chalk. On the palate, Clavoillon is harmonious and focused, balancing freshness and texture with remarkable precision. Citrus and stone fruit lead the way before the wine broadens into a creamy, almost silky mouthfeel, layered with nutty nuances and a light smoky minerality. The acidity is vibrant and carries the wine to a long, exact finish with a saline, chalky impression. It has excellent aging potential and is best enjoyed after 5–10 years, when greater complexity begins to emerge.

Clavoillon is sourced from a large Premier Cru vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet, where limestone-rich soils and a cool Burgundian climate help produce Chardonnay with tension, purity, and depth. Domaine Leflaive’s strong presence in the site allows for careful vineyard management and a consistent expression of the terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with a restrained approach, including gentle oak aging, to preserve freshness, structure, and mineral clarity while adding subtle complexity.
