Dominio de Pingus de Pingus 2022 is one of Spain’s most sought-after Tempranillo wines, made from tiny, historic parcels in Castilla y León. Sourced from old vines in Barrosso and San Cristóbal, it combines remarkable concentration with finesse, and continues Peter Sisseck’s legacy of crafting wines that sit among the very best in the Ribera del Duero.

Makuprofiili
Expect a deep, intensely colored red with impressive depth and clarity. The nose is layered and expressive, offering dark berries, plum, wild herbs, subtle spice, and finely integrated oak notes, with the added complexity that comes from partial whole-cluster fermentation. On the palate, it is powerful yet controlled, with ripe fruit, polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, persistent finish that balances richness with precision. This is a wine built for development, and while it can be enjoyed young by collectors, it has the structure and concentration to age gracefully for many years. Over time, it should gain greater aromatic complexity, softer tannins, and more savory depth.

Viininvalmistus
Pingus is produced from just 4.2 hectares split between two old-vine parcels, Barrosso and San Cristóbal, both rooted in the stony, sun-drenched soils of Castilla y León. The vines are more than 65 years old, with some even older, and the small vineyard size means production is extremely limited. In this vintage, nearly half the clusters were vinified whole, thanks to beautifully ripe stems, and the wine was fermented in 2,000-liter French oak casks. Instead of new barriques, used 228-liter French oak barrels were employed, and part of the wine remained in large casks for the full 21 months before blending and bottling unfiltered and without fining.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a superb match for roast lamb, beef tenderloin, game, slow-braised short ribs, or rich mushroom dishes. It also pairs beautifully with aged Manchego and other nutty, firm cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young, as this will help open the wine and reveal its full aromatic range.

Dominio de Pingus was founded by Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck and has become a benchmark producer in Ribera del Duero and beyond. The estate is known for its meticulous vineyard work, microscopic yields, and uncompromising quality standards, which quickly earned it a cult following among collectors. Over the years, Pingus has gained an international reputation for producing some of Spain’s most iconic and highly rated wines.
