Hiedler Ried Gaisberg 1 ÖWT Reserve Riesling 2022 is a beautifully crafted Austrian Riesling that combines ripe fruit, firm structure, and striking minerality. Sourced from the prized Gaisberg site in Kamptal, an Erste Lage vineyard known for its excellent conditions for Riesling, it offers both immediate appeal and the promise of further development in bottle.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Riesling shows a bright, polished character with a generous aromatic profile. The nose opens with ripe mango, peach, lemon, mandarin, rosemary, and a subtle floral lift of hibiscus, creating an inviting mix of fruit, herbs, and delicate complexity. On the palate, the wine is juicy and full-bodied, with mature citrus fruit at the center and a precise, impressive mineral backbone running through the finish. It feels both generous and focused, with the kind of balance that makes it enjoyable now while suggesting there is still more to gain with a few years of cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Gaisberg in Kamptal, a historic Riesling site with a slightly milder microclimate and soils that are especially well suited to producing expressive, mineral wines. The fruit was harvested by hand in late October, destemmed before pressing, and fermented in stainless steel. The wine then matured in tank on its lees, helping preserve freshness while adding texture and depth.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Riesling is a natural match for dishes with clean flavors and a touch of spice, such as Asian cuisine, roast poultry, shellfish, grilled fish, or vegetable-based dishes with citrus and herbs. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and consider decanting only if you want to open it up a little more for immediate drinking.
