Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay 2024 is a benchmark New Zealand Chardonnay that consistently punches far above its price point. Makuprofiili
Pale straw in the glass, this Chardonnay is immediately inviting with a pure, lifted nose of lemon zest and white peach, backed by subtle mineral detail. On the palate it is silky and beautifully balanced, with bright citrus fruit, a refined texture, and a long, clean finish that lingers on fresh lemon notes. There is a quiet confidence to the wine’s structure, making it delicious now yet very capable of developing over the next 4–6 years. With bottle age, expect more layered complexity and extra depth without losing its hallmark freshness.

The Estate label is built from fruit selected across six vineyard sites, giving the wine a blend of complexity, balance, and consistency that reflects the best of Kumeu River’s Auckland terroir. Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay is an excellent match for shellfish, grilled prawns, lobster, roast chicken, or creamy seafood dishes, where its citrus drive and silky texture can shine. Serve it chilled at around 10–12°C for the best expression of aroma and flavour. Decanting is not necessary, but allowing the wine a little time in the glass will help it open beautifully.
