Macanita Pála Pinta Branco 2022

Macanita Pála Pinta Branco 2022 is a distinctive white wine from Portugal’s Douro Valley, shaped by a remarkable old-vine field blend grown high above Cima Corgo. Built on a mix of around 20 native white grape varieties, it offers a beautiful expression of mountain freshness, granitic tension, and real regional character. The wine reflects the depth and heritage of some of the Douro’s oldest vineyards, where low yields and age bring concentration and complexity.

In the glass, it shows a citrine-yellow colour that hints at its brightness and concentration. The nose is layered and complex, with aromas of white fruit leading the way, supported by a fresh, elegant profile that gradually opens with air. On the palate, the wine is fresh yet richly textured, with notable depth and persistence. The balance between energy and weight gives it a refined, food-friendly style, while the old-vine fruit and careful élevage suggest very good aging potential over the medium term.

Viininvalmistus
Pála Pinta Branco 2022 comes from Carlão in Cima Corgo, where vineyards planted on granitic soils sit at an altitude of around 535 metres. The vines are between 110 and 130 years old, forming an old field blend of approximately 20 white varieties. Grapes are harvested by hand into 18 kg boxes, whole bunches are pressed, and the must undergoes cold settling before fermentation in barrel. The wine is then aged for 12 months in neutral barrels to preserve purity and site expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for rich dishes, as well as bold, clean flavours that can stand up to its depth and freshness. Try it with roast poultry, creamy seafood dishes, white meats, or refined vegetarian plates with herbs and texture. Serve at 10–12°C.
