Martinelli Giuseppe & Luisa Zinfandel 2018 is a benchmark California Zinfandel from one of the Russian River Valley’s most storied family sites. Sourced from vines descended from cuttings planted by Giuseppe and Luisa Martinelli in the 1880s, it combines old-vine heritage with the rich, generous style that has made Martinelli one of the region’s most respected names.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color that hints at its ripe, concentrated character. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of raspberry compote, blood orange, strawberry, white pear, black tea, and warm vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and plush, delivering generous fruit and plenty of power while still holding its balance. Red plum and nectarine join the aromatic profile, adding brightness and juiciness to the wine’s rich core. The finish is long and satisfying, suggesting this is a Zinfandel with enough structure and depth to age gracefully for several years.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from a historic Zinfandel planting in the Russian River Valley, a cool-climate part of Sonoma County known for producing wines with both ripeness and freshness. The grapes are harvested on the riper side to capture the variety’s signature depth and sweetness of fruit, while winemaker Courtney Wagoner works carefully to preserve balance and prevent the wine from feeling heavy or overblown. The result is a powerful, fruit-forward expression with a polished structure.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Zinfandel with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled ribeye, barbecued pork ribs, lamb chops, braised short ribs, or hearty mushroom dishes. It also works well with aged cheddar or other semi-hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
