Ornellaia Le Volte 2021 is a polished Tuscan red that brings the house style of Ornellaia into a more approachable, early-drinking format. First created in 1991, it offers a snapshot of the estate’s quality and attention to detail, with a blend that typically leans on Merlot and is shaped by the best fruit of the vintage.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Le Volte 2021 shows a deep ruby color with inviting clarity and youthful intensity. The nose is generous and supple, with ripe dark berries, plum, subtle spice, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs, all carried by a soft floral lift. On the palate, it is round and medium-bodied, with juicy black cherry and blackberry fruit balanced by fresh acidity and smooth, refined tannins. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese components add structure and definition, while the Merlot brings plushness and charm. This is a wine made for enjoying relatively young, though it should develop additional complexity over the next few years.

Le Volte comes from Tuscany, where the warm coastal influence of Bolgheri and the estate’s carefully selected vineyard parcels help create ripe, expressive fruit with freshness and balance. Ornellaia selects the best-performing grapes of the vintage, so the blend can vary from year to year, with vinification handled to preserve the purity and suppleness of the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
A versatile wine for the table, Le Volte pairs especially well with grilled steak, roast lamb, tomato-based pasta dishes, and mature hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 20–30 minutes can help open up the aromatics and soften the texture if enjoyed young.

Ornellaia was founded in 1988 by Lodovico Antinori in Bolgheri, next to the famed Sassicaia estate, and quickly became one of Tuscany’s most respected names.
