Philippe Pacalet’s Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2013 is a finely etched expression of one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most prized vineyards. Made from Pinot Noir, it combines lifted aromatics, striking minerality, and an elegant, terroir-driven style that stands apart for its purity and finesse. In a vintage like 2013, it offers a beautifully poised glimpse into the character of this historic Grand Cru site.

Makuprofiili
This is a refined, transparent Burgundy in the glass, showing a bright, youthful ruby hue. The nose is wonderfully fragrant and precise, with notes of strawberry coulis, Seville orange, rose petal, and a chalky limestone accent that gives the wine a distinct sense of place. On the palate, the wine opens with ripe, candied red fruit before moving into a finely structured core of taut tannins and superb minerality. The finish is long, elegant, and understated, with enough concentration to age gracefully over the next 10 to 15 years, and likely longer in a good cellar.

Viininvalmistus
Ruchottes-Chambertin is one of the most mineral and tightly structured Grand Cru sites in Gevrey-Chambertin, with stony, limestone-rich soils that help shape the wine’s lifted, restrained profile. Philippe Pacalet is known for working with minimal intervention, allowing the vineyard character to come through clearly. The grapes are typically harvested carefully by hand, and vinification is carried out with a light touch to preserve purity, fragrance, and texture.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with dishes that complement its finesse rather than overpower it, such as roast duck, squab, veal with mushrooms, or guinea fowl. It also pairs beautifully with earthy preparations like wild mushrooms, truffle dishes, or lightly aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant gently for about 30 to 60 minutes if the wine is still showing tightly.
